Resveratrol is the natural compound found in grapes, mulberries, peanuts or food products like red wine. Chemically it is 3,5,4'-trihydroxy-trans- stilbene, a stilbenoid , a type of polyphenol, and a phytolexin produced naturally by several plants when under attack by pathogens such as bacteria or fungi.
